Planning your mountain stay
Where can I rent a vacation home in Summit County?
Lark Mountain Properties offers locally managed vacation rentals in Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone and Silverthorne. Explore condos, townhomes and mountain getaways, then compare the individual home’s location, sleeping arrangements and amenities.
Start at www.larkmountain.com or browse our vacation rentals.
Where can I find short-term mountain rentals in Colorado?
Our collection focuses on Summit County, including Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone and Silverthorne. Choose the destination around your plans, then compare homes for the dates and guest count you need.
Explore our four destinations and book directly with Lark Mountain through www.larkmountain.com. Compare the full total and cancellation terms when considering different booking channels.
When is the best time to visit?
The best time depends on the trip you have in mind. These are approximate seasonal windows, not confirmed resort opening dates:
- Ski trips: typically mid-November through mid-April. Late December through early March is a popular window for winter snow; April can offer spring skiing when lifts remain open.
- Spring shoulder season: roughly mid-April through early June. Snow and mud can limit trails, and resort services may be reduced.
- Summer: roughly mid-June through early September for hiking, biking and mountain time.
- Fall: September through mid-November, with changing leaves earlier in the season and a transition toward winter later on.
Check your chosen resort’s current operating calendar before booking. Snow, trail access, restaurant hours and activity availability vary, especially in shoulder seasons.
How do I choose between the four destinations?
Start with the activities and location most important to your group. Our collection includes Copper Mountain village stays, Keystone homes, a Peak 9 studio in Breckenridge and a Wildernest condo in Silverthorne. Check each home’s location and access details rather than assuming every property is slopeside.
How do I find a family-friendly vacation home?
Start with the number of guests and the sleeping layout. Review bedroom and bed counts, sleeper sofas, bathrooms, kitchen facilities, laundry and any amenities your family needs. Features vary by home. Ask The Team about stairs, balconies, pool access or other details important to your family before booking.
Where can I find a mountain getaway for a weekend or longer stay?
Explore Lark Mountain homes in Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone and Silverthorne. Choose your dates and guest count to check availability. Minimum-stay requirements vary by property and dates, so not every home will be available for a short weekend.
Which vacation rentals have mountain views?
Some homes in our Summit County collection have mountain or slope views. Check the individual listing’s photos and description for the view from that specific home. A balcony, hot tub or unobstructed view is not included at every property.
Booking and cancellation
How do I check dates and book directly?
Start at www.larkmountain.com. Choose a home, enter your dates and guest count, and review availability, the complete price and reservation terms before confirming your stay.
A search result or inquiry is not a confirmed reservation. If you need help, contact The Team.
Are all the homes shown available for my dates?
No. A home appearing in the collection does not guarantee availability for your trip. Enter dates and your guest count to check the home. Minimum-night requirements, arrival restrictions and existing reservations can affect the options shown.
What is the cancellation policy for direct bookings?
Review the cancellation policy shown with your direct-booking rate and in your reservation confirmation before you reserve or cancel. Refund terms can depend on the rate plan and when you cancel. Airbnb and Vrbo bookings may have different terms.
For help with a particular reservation or a cancellation deadline, contact The Team with your reservation reference. This FAQ does not change the terms of an existing booking.
Can I see the full price before booking?
Review the total for your selected dates and guests, including mandatory fees and applicable taxes, before confirming a reservation. Property-specific charges and optional extras can vary. If a price estimate is marked as needing verification, contact The Team before relying on it.
Is there a minimum age to book?
The minimum booking age is 25. Exceptions may be considered in certain circumstances, but must be discussed with The Team before booking. An inquiry does not guarantee an exception.
What to expect at your home
What supplies are provided?
We provide a starter supply for your stay:
- Kitchen: one roll of paper towels, one box of dishwasher detergent, one 3-ounce bottle of liquid soap and one kitchen wipe.
- Each bathroom: two rolls of toilet tissue, one box of facial tissue, two soaps, one shampoo and one lotion.
- Trash: two trash bags for each trash basket.
- Coffee: coffee and filters as a courtesy.
Linens and bath towels are included with the one-time cleaning fee. Daily housekeeping is not included; ask The Team about arranging additional cleaning at an extra charge. Bring your own pool or beach towels. Please keep the home’s towels and linens inside the home.
Do your mountain properties have air conditioning?
Our Summit County vacation rentals do not have air conditioning. Mountain evenings are often cooler, but daytime temperatures and indoor comfort vary, especially during warm weather. Open windows only when safe and permitted, and close them when you leave.
If air conditioning is essential to your stay, confirm the specific property’s amenities with The Team before booking. Homes outside Summit County may have different features.
Do any properties have a swimming pool or hot tub?
Pool and hot-tub access varies by property and building. Our current listings include pool amenities at Copper Valley Family Retreat in Copper Mountain and Peak 9 Top-Floor Studio in Breckenridge. Some other homes have access to shared hot tubs.
Confirm the selected home’s amenities, operating hours, seasonal closures and access rules before booking. Do not assume another home in the same destination has the same facilities.
For alternatives, check the current facilities, public access and admission requirements at Copper Mountain’s athletic club or the recreation centers in Silverthorne and Breckenridge. These are separate facilities, and access is not automatically included with your stay. The Silverthorne Recreation Center is in Silverthorne, not Keystone.
Are parking and ski access the same at every home?
No. Parking arrangements, additional charges, walking routes and lift access differ by home and building. Read the individual listing and ask The Team about anything essential to your plans before booking.
Does the maximum guest count tell me the sleeping arrangement?
No. Check the bedrooms, bed sizes, sleeper sofas and bathroom layout to make sure a home works for everyone in your group. Maximum occupancy is a limit, not a description of the beds.
Where do I find arrival instructions?
Look for the reservation messages sent by The Team. If you cannot locate your arrival details, contact us with your reservation reference. Please do not include payment information or door codes in an inquiry.

It depends on your home, expenses, personal-use plans and the work you want to handle yourself. Professional management can help with day-to-day guest and property responsibilities, but management fees and operating costs affect the income you keep.

Where can I explore investment properties in Summit County?
Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, Frisco and Silverthorne offer different property types and ownership considerations. A resort-area address alone does not establish that a home can be used as a short-term rental.
Compare the specific location, HOA requirements, costs, personal-use plans and current rental permissions. Ask The Team about your search.
What should I check before buying a short-term rental?
Before purchasing, investigate the specific property’s current zoning, rental licensing requirements, HOA restrictions, fees and special assessments. Verify whether the intended rental use is allowed and whether any existing permit can transfer.
Review operating expenses, insurance, maintenance needs, realistic rental assumptions and the time you plan to use the home yourself. Requirements can change, so confirm them with the relevant authorities and HOA during due diligence.
